🎲 Buddy Board Game Day was a favorite part of OPS's Week of Respect! Students connected with buddies from other classes to play, laugh, take turns, cheer each other on, and practice being good teammates. Sometimes building community is as simple as sitting down together and playing a game. 🐾

Yesterday, families were sent an email about our summer learning activities and website. You can find a link to the website on the front page of the OPS website. You can find a copy of the letter, recommended activities and a list of rewards on the summer learning website. There are copies of activity papers and books to be borrowed in the OPS lobby. There are also links for audio book versions for the summer reading assignments on the summer learning website. Did you know a 250th anniversary is called the Semiquincentennial? Semi- meaning "half". Quin- meaning "five," and centennial meaning a 100-year anniversary. While many things evolve and change . . . one event at OPS has stayed the same: Our 6th Grade Commencement. White chairs lining the lawn, the ringing of the original school bell, the color guard leading the processional in as fifth grade handbells plays "Pomp and Circumstance," and, of course, the 6th grade's final musical performance which they dedicate to their families.
