We loved spending time together as an OPS family as we joined together with the Oradell community to recognize the United States of America's 250th birthday. Fun fact . . . Did you know a 250th anniversary is called the Semiquincentennial? Semi- meaning "half". Quin- meaning "five," and centennial meaning a 100-year anniversary. (So . . half of 500!) #AlwaysLearning #IndependenceDay #LoveOurOPSFamily

During the last week of school, students in grades K-3 learned about how to be a water safety hero. To learn more about the A-B-C-D-Es of water safety, visit The Zac Foundation website (www.thezacfoundation.org). @thezacfoundation #WaterSafetyHero #KnowledgeIsPower #PantherPride

While many things evolve and change . . . one event at OPS has stayed the same: Our 6th Grade Commencement. White chairs lining the lawn, the ringing of the original school bell, the color guard leading the processional in as fifth grade handbells plays "Pomp and Circumstance," and, of course, the 6th grade's final musical performance which they dedicate to their families. It is one of our favorite days of the year!!! #LoveOurOPSFamily #PantherPride #OPSClassof2026 #MovingForwardTogether

The chairs are up. The bell is cleaned. The programs are printed. And thanks to these six graders, the sign has some new greenery. (Yes, we made them work to get ready for their own commencement!) We are so excited for the tradition of an Oradell Public School 6th Grade Commencement tomorrow morning. #PantherPride #MovingForwardTogether #OPSClassof2026

Get your first library card. Meet OPS's new library media specialist and/or our new Spanish teacher. Snuggle with the Panther. Listen to one of the 15 books being read by OPS staff around the school. Some did all of that at OPS tonight at another one of our OPS firsts . . . Reading Night! @oradellpubliclibrary #LoveOurOPSFamily #RaiseAReader #ReadingIsPower

We enjoyed seeing former and current students at Oradell ARTS FEST yesterday. They were selling their crafts, creating art and sharing their many talents. We were especially excited to have our handbell groups be included in the performances. #ArtsMatter @oradellarts #LoveOurOPSFamily #PantherPride @ops_music_nj

New OPS Event!!! In fourth grade, students have the opportunity to choose an instrument to play. Learning the recorder in third grade helps them begin their instrument journey as they read music and learn to take care of their instrument. This year, they also had the opportunity to try out instruments before making their choice for fourth grade. #MusicMatters #PantherPrude

This morning, OPS and OPD once again joined together in the final leg of the OPS/OPD "Triple Crown" of events. We lined the streets to recognize Chief Emmie as this year's "Chief for a Day." Some of her classmates joined her family at Borough Hall after the parade for her official swearing in before she began a busy day of chief duties. #LoveOurOPSFamily #BigHeartBigSchool @BoroughofOradell @Oradell_PBA

Our 6th Grade Awards Night is about more than just recognizing students for academic and character awards. It is also about providing students a chance to lead. Students volunteer to create the program, perform musically, serve as hosts for the evening and share their memories of OPS. Thank you to the many community members and OPS staff members who joined us this evening. #LoveOurOPSFamily #PantherPride @Philipsfund @bookandneedlewomansclub @sgtdavidsolinasjrmemorial

We loved watching our students excitedly share their learning with their families. It was interesting to hear why students chose the individuals they did to research, and we learned many new facts. Did you know Abraham Lincoln was a wrestler? Now you do . . . thank you 3rd grade for teaching us!!! #AlwaysLearning #ReadToLearn #PantherPride
