ATTENDANCE LETTERS: As we approach the midpoint of the first marking period, we will be sending attendance letters to families of students who have missed 10% or more of the school year. With approximately 30 school days completed, we understand that receiving a letter for just three absences may be concerning. Please know that our goal is to partner with families to help students attend school and succeed. We will review attendance each marking period and work with families to develop plans when additional support is needed.
ITEM DROPOFFS: Please limit items dropped off during the school day to essentials, such as lunch. We appreciate your help in keeping classroom interruptions to a minimum so students can stay focused on learning.
CONNECT WITH OUR SPECIAL EDUCATION COMMUNITY: Navigating special education can be easier when you have a community behind you. Join the Oradell SEPAC Group to connect with other parents, share resources, and collaborate with our school district. Learn more or get involved by clicking HERE or emailing oradellsepac@gmail.com. We hope this is helpful and look forward to working together this year to support special education students and families.
GOT JUNK? WE WANT IT! The STEAM Lab is collecting materials for our Second Grade Engineering Project: “LET’S BUILD A TOY!” Our young engineers will be using everyday materials to design, build, test, and create their own toys!
We are looking for:
Small broken or unwanted toys
Fabric scraps
Small cardboard boxes
Bottle caps
Craft materials
Other clean, child-safe odds and ends that students can repurpose
Please no toilet paper rolls. Before you toss those little odds and ends in the trash, consider sending them to the STEAM Lab! Your “junk” could become part of a brand-new invention created by one of our second grade engineers. 💡
