WELCOME BACK!: Welcome back to our returning OPS families, and a special welcome to those joining our Panther community for the first time! We’ve been working hard to get OPS ready and can’t wait to welcome our students back for a year of learning, growing, and new adventures. Whatever this year’s journey brings, let’s make every step count!
DISMISSAL FORM: The dismissal form found HERE must be completed for every student to be dismissed on Wednesday. Please submit prior to dropping your child off at OPS on Wednesday.
PETS AND BIKES AT OPS: Please help us keep arrival and dismissal safe. Dogs must be kept on the sidewalks. Families and students riding bikes or scooters must walk them on the sidewalk once they reach school property. Dogs, bikes, and scooters are prohibited in crowds and on the grass. Thank you for your cooperation!
SUMMER LEARNING: There’s still time to wrap up summer learning! Please visit our Summer Learning page for grade-level information and activities. Grade 6 summer learning is due September 4 and will be assessed as the first grade of the marking period. Families who still need to pick up summer learning materials may stop by OPS on Monday and Tuesday from 8:30 AM- 4:00 PM.
OPS’S NEW ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL: We are excited to welcome Ms. Laura Calandra as OPS’s new Assistant Principal for grades 4-6! Ms. Calandra brings experience in instructional leadership, technology integration, and a multisensory approach to literacy. We look forward to introducing her to our students and families and will share opportunities to meet her soon.
BACK-TO-SCHOOL NIGHT: Save the dates for our OPS Back-to-School Nights! Families of students in Grades 4–6 will join us on September 10, and families of students in PreK–Grade 3 will join us on September 17. These evenings are an opportunity to meet your child’s teachers, learn about classroom routines and expectations, and get a look at the year ahead.
