Return of Panther Pride: Our Path, Our OPS
Monday: B Day
SPRING FEVER: As we move into the spring months, we know routines can start to feel a little more relaxed. This is a good time for a quick reminder that homework expectations remain in place, the late bell still rings at 8:35 AM, and our Code of Conduct and dress code continue to apply. Staying consistent with these routines helps keep our days running smoothly and supports a strong finish to the school year. More details, including Code of Conduct and dress code, can be found in the OPS Family/Student Handbook.
NEW OPS COMMITTEE - CALL FOR PARENT VOLUNTEERS: We are excited to announce the creation of our Stakeholder Engagement Team (SET). SET is a group of parents and staff who come together to build connection and share perspectives that help support our school community as we continue setting the path for the future of OPS. The team will include 3–5 parents, a PTA liaison, 3–5 staff members, an Oradell Education Association liaison, and the principal and assistant principals. SET will meet approximately three times per school year, with meetings scheduled at 9:00 AM, 1:30 PM, and 7:00 PM to accommodate different schedules. Volunteers must be available to attend all three meetings in person. The first meeting will be on May 29th at 1:30 PM. Interested parents can apply HERE.
SCHAEFER SUMMER EXPLORATIONS PROGRAM: The Oradell Public School District is excited to offer the Schaefer Explorations Summer Enrichment Program, including KinderCamp. This voluntary program runs weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 PM, beginning Monday, June 22 and ending Friday, July 17 (closed July 3). With three periods each day, families can choose from a variety of engaging classes. Classes, registration, and payment information can be found HERE. The deadline to register before late fees apply is Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS ART SHOW HELP: OPS’s Art Show will be held on May 19th! Ms. Schlessinger is looking for parent volunteers to help prepare student artwork for the show. Volunteers will even get a sneak peek of student work before the big night! Many volunteers are needed, and any time you can give is greatly appreciated. Please sign up HERE.
TAKE YOUR CHILD TO WORK DAY: Thursday, April 23rd is Take Your Child to Work Day. Students who participate with a family member will have their absence excused. Parents should report their child absent as usual and note “Take Your Child to Work Day.” Students who attend are still welcome to participate in any scheduled afterschool activities (such as HoOPS) on Thursday.
SPRING INTO APRIL WITH BEDTIME PANTHER TALES! Students and families are invited to wind down after busy spring days by joining our teachers for special virtual Zoom read-alouds. Please join Ms. Gleason this Wednesday night and Mr. Mangol this Thursday night! Panther Tales are open to all grade levels, with recommended levels noted on the signup form. Sign up for dates HERE.
