Return of Panther Pride: Our Path, Our OPS

Monday: C Day

WELCOME BACK: We hope everyone had a wonderful break, and we look forward to welcoming students back on Monday! As we head into the busy spring season with longer days and more activities, we are excited to partner with families to ensure a strong finish to the school year. With nearly a third of the year still ahead, maintaining a focus on academics, routines, and consistent effort will help students make the most of these final months. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or assistant principal with any questions, needs, or concerns.

UNLOCKING AMPLIFY DESMOS MATH PARENT ACADEMY: Come and experience Math at OPS! Join us Wednesday at 7:00 PM for a Parent Academy focused on K-5 Amplify Desmos Math. Discover how this program is designed to boost student engagement and deepen conceptual understanding by blending interactive technology with hands-on activities and paper-pencil materials. To RSVP, click HERE. If you are unable to attend, please know that this session will be offered again in the fall.

SPRING INTO APRIL WITH BEDTIME PANTHER TALES! Students and families are invited to wind down after busy spring days by joining our teachers for special virtual Zoom read-alouds, beginning with Ms. Pizza this Thursday night! Panther Tales are open to all grade levels, with recommended levels noted on the signup form. Sign up for dates HERE.

CLASS PLACEMENT: As we begin the class placement process, we will send families a survey in mid-May to gather information about their child. While we do not accept specific teacher requests, we value parent input and welcome any information you would like to share to help us make thoughtful placements. Families interested in learning more about the class placement process are encouraged to attend the PTA meeting on April 28 at 7:30 PM, where Mrs. Hawley will provide additional details.

NJSLA HEADPHONES NEEDED: The NJSLA infrastructure trial and the upcoming NJSLA assessments begin at the end of April. Please send all grade 3-6 students to school with a pair of wired headphones by April 20th. Having headphones ready helps ensure a smooth testing experience for all students. For more NJSLA information, please click HERE
