Return of Panther Pride: Our Path, Our OPS

Monday: B Day

LIBRARY READING PROGRAMS: Mr. Mangol and Mrs. Santagelo from the OPS Library will again run reading programs for students in grades 1-6 this year. These programs promote a love of reading through engaging activities and challenges. See the links below for details.

ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL SAFETY REMINDERS:

  • No U-turns during drop-off or pick-up. U-turns create a dangerous situation and back up traffic. Please continue to the next block to turn safely.

  • Do not walk through the staff parking lot. It is an active roadway and the primary parking area for our staff.

Please use sidewalks and designated crosswalks, follow staff directions, and drive slowly near the school. Thank you for helping keep everyone safe.

WEEK OF RESPECT: The Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act designates the first full week of October as New Jersey’s Week of Respect. At Oradell Public School, we use this week to reinforce messages of kindness and acceptance through classroom lessons and activities. More information will come out next week. To show community togetherness, we’ll also have the following spirit-wear theme days:

  • October 6th: Wear Blue

  • October 7th: Wear Your Favorite Team Shirt

  • October 8th: Wear Cozy Clothes

  • October 9th: Wear Your Favorite Color

  • October 10th: Wear OPS Gear

SMART WATCH REMINDERS:

Students who wear smartwatches must keep them off during the school day, including lunch and recess. Students are not allowed to use any personal electronics to call, text, or message family or friends while at school. If a student is feeling unwell or needs assistance, they should inform their teacher or an assistant principal; the nurse or main office will contact families if necessary. If a student uses a smartwatch during the school day, they will receive one warning. A second violation will result in losing the privilege to wear the watch at school.
