Monday: A Day
The Way of the Panther
NJSLA: The New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA) begins this week for students in Grades 5 and 6. Please make sure your child brings wired headphones each day. Students should come to school well-rested and have a good breakfast.
PANTHERS ROAR FOR HEAVENLY HATS: Heavenly Hats is an organization that supports individuals battling cancer. To contribute to this cause, the OPS Student Government is hosting a hat sale. Purchase an $8.00 hat by May 2nd by filling out the form HERE. Students can wear them for our Hat Day! When you buy a hat, your donation, included in the cost, helps provide a hat to someone undergoing cancer treatment.
STEAM TANK 6TH GRADE BOOK SWAP EVENT: OPS students are invited to participate in this exciting event! Whether you're a book lover or just looking to discover something new, bring a gently used book and take one to enjoy that's new to you. The swap will be held on Tuesday, April 30th, in the OPS lobby. This event is part of our STEAM Tank Project, and we are thrilled to share that Team Book Swappers made it to the finals! Please fill out the form HERE to participate.
PTA SPIRIT WEAR COLLECTION: Drop off your outgrown, gently used, OPS Spirit Wear in the school lobby between April 21 and May 2. Other Oradell shirts are also welcome! All donations must be in good condition. The PTA will sort items by size and have a sale of vintage spirit wear later this spring. Note: We are still accepting Halloween costumes!
UPDATED OPS CALENDAR: At the April 9th Board meeting, the 2024–2025 school calendar was updated. You can find the revised calendar HERE or on the front page of our website. Please note that school will now be closed on May 23rd and May 27th, and the last day of school is scheduled for June 19th.
NEW WEBSITE UPDATE: If you receive an error message while using the new OPS website, we recommend clearing your browser’s cookies and cache. This often resolves any issues and helps ensure the site loads correctly. If you find a link that doesn't work, please email the link to Mrs. Hawley.
ATTENDANCE: Attendance letters for absences and tardies will be sent home soon. These letters are state-mandated and help us ensure that all students are receiving the support they need. While we understand that illness and other extenuating circumstances may affect attendance, it is important that we work together to create a plan to promote consistent school attendance.
