FAQ:
Do I have homework every night?
Homework is assigned every night from Monday thru Thursday night. There is no homework on the weekends.
What is my homework?
Homework on MOST nights is given in Spelling, Reading Comprehension, and Math. Most homework assignments are on worksheets.
What happens if I miss a homework assignment?
If you miss an assignment, you will get a Homework Note. Your parents will sign it and you will return it. If you miss more than three assignments in a subject, it WILL start to count against your report card grade.
May I use pen?
No. All of your assignments are to be completed in pencil. This is so you can fix your mistakes. If you are completing a drawing assignment, you may use crayon, markers, and colored pencils. Pen is not appropriate for artwork.
Is there a Spelling test every week?
Yes, on all full weeks of school, you will have a Spelling test. All Spelling tests are on Fridays.
Can I put a lock on my locker?
No. It is very hard for a Third Grader to remember combinations and even harder to work the lock. There is no need for a lock. We have a great school and I have never had a student lose something from his/her locker due to theft. OPS is honest!
